The Vehicle Tamper Detection System, or “VTDS” was designed to provide a means for temporarily protecting stored assets within a business facility. This allows detection of attempted theft, of all Golf Carts, Utility Vehicles, Tractors, ATV’s and Snowmobiles.

Motor sport vehicle theft is at its highest level and continues to rise. Dealers face the liability of property theft while the vehicle is waiting to be sold. ATE has created an ”answer to the problem”. Vehicles can now be affordably and easily protected while located on premises and be instantly removed when the vehicle is sold.

  • The VTDS is a RF based, four-part system. It employs an individual tamper detector, a receiver/trigger, alarm controller and an emergency phone dialer.
  • The tamper detector contains a highly sensitive tamper detection circuit and an encoded RF transmitter. When the thief attempts to steal the vehicle, the detector is activated and an encoded signature is transmitted to the receiver/trigger.
  • The receiver/trigger contains an extremely sensitive RF receiver, ID decoder and an encoded RF transmitter. When the receiver/trigger is activated, it is placed into a triggered and latched state. Authorized personnel can only turn it off.
  • The alarm controller contains an extremely sensitive RF receiver and a really obnoxious siren.  When the controller receives a valid signal from the receiver/trigger, the alarm is activated and the siren is turned on.
  • The automatic emergency phone dialer will call the emergency contact number that has been programmed into it once the alarm controller has been activated.

Operating Principle:

The system was designed so that up to 16000 vehicles can be covered by a single installation. The receiver/trigger, alarm controller and phone dialer are a one-time purchase item. The tamper detector is purchased in the quantity of vehicles that you desire to protect.

Once the alarm controller and receiver/trigger have been installed, the dealer simply has to attach a tamper detector to the target vehicle. When the vehicle is ready to be delivered to the customer, the dealer merely removes the device.

Installation of the tamper device requires no modification to the vehicle and no batteries to
replace.
The tamper device has a magnetic base so no bolts or screws are necessary. Inside the device is a very sensitive motion sensor. The device has two wires extending from it that are for connection to the vehicle battery. The device does not use any power from the vehicle battery unless the thief activates it.
